Dog for diabetic
Diabetic Alert Dogs:
Early detection for better diabetes control
Thanks to a partnership with the diabetes service at the University Hospital of Liège, Os'mose was able to train the first alert dog for a diabetic person in Belgium in 2019.
A trained ALERT dog is capable of warning a few minutes in advance of a future hypo- or hyperglycemia. There are blood sugar sensors, but they are not always 100% reliable, unlike the dog's nose. Moreover, the dog can alert much earlier than most devices!
Thanks to this technical aid, its presence, and unconditional support, the diabetic person not only regains some autonomy, but also a better quality of life and daily well-being.
