ADI Accreditation – Assistance Dogs International

At present, there is no official diploma or government-issued certification that formally recognizes the training of assistance dogs.

The only true guarantee of quality is accreditation by ADI (Assistance Dogs International). This international federation has created a strict and thorough accreditation system for organizations that train assistance dogs. Applying for accreditation is entirely voluntary—but obtaining it is no easy task.

After a probationary period, each organization is evaluated by ADI assessors. The review process covers both administrative practices and hands-on training methods. Full accreditation takes several months and requires organizations to meet high standards in every area of their work.

Why seek accreditation?

ADI's evaluations ensure that the organization is healthy and well-managed on an administrative level (finances, board management, employee oversight, risk management, etc.). Beyond that, assessors verify that the work being done is aligned with the well-being of everyone involved—dogs, foster families, beneficiaries, staff, and more.

Receiving accreditation from ADI, awarded by fellow professionals, is a powerful mark of trust and quality.

Os’mose was first accredited in 2015—and we’ve proudly maintained our status ever since. We undergo regular reviews to ensure our work continues to meet international standards. It’s also a point of pride for us to represent this global federation.

Being accredited means more than recognition: it connects us to a wider network of organizations, opens the door to valuable collaborations, and gives us access to international conferences—opportunities that help us grow and improve every single day.
